Junction 1 - Main Stage & Noise Statement
During the past few weeks and months, our team has worked tirelessly to plan and deliver some of the best music events taking place in Glasgow this summer at our new open-air venue, Junction 1 (J1). On Wednesday 10th August, our team were asked to meet with representatives from Glasgow City Council (GCC) regarding noise complaints received from the local area relating to performances that took place on 28th, 29th, 30th & 31st July and 5th & 6th August 2022. As a result of this meeting, the main stage will no longer be allowed to be used for any scheduled or future events this summer as previously planned.

The main stage has now been removed and all future events will be held in The Garden area only. In addition to this, we will issue letters to residents in Oatlands explaining the temporary nature of the venue and the steps which will be taken to address the noise complaints.
As a result of this move and through no fault of the artist involved, Armand Van Helden will no longer be performing on Saturday 13th August. We are currently seeking an alternative date and venue for his main stage headline performance in the near future and your ticket will remain valid for the new date.
Despite this setback, the show must go on!
On Saturday 13th August, we will still be throwing an almighty ‘Garden Party’ as planned. There will be headline performances from BBC Radio 1's Arielle Free and electronic duo Illyus & Barrientos plus a whole host of local superstars including DJ's Beth, Nico Balducci, Kieran Apter, Jay Celino & Ben Crawford.
With the mercury set to reach record temperatures, we will be opening doors early at 2pm so please do get down and show your support for our amazing dance music scene and amazing local artists.
We would just like to finish off by saying thank you to everyone who has joined us at J1 open-air this summer and embraced what we are working on - bringing an exciting new open-air venue to Glasgow and Scotland.
We are all here for the love of music!
Love J1 x
